Hello, my name is Mikael, I go by TurckeyByrd most places (yes it is purposefully misspelled!)  I'm a multi-media artist that's worked with plaster, wood, metal, clay, paints, and fabric art.  My current portfolio is mostly digital work (thanks pandemic!) with the occasional splash of ceramics.

I draw a lot of my inspiration for art from mythologies, espcially those I have a personal connection to.  I like to create work that gives people a connection point, that can make someone reflect on their past and future through the stories we've been passed down. 

I'm a graduate of Florida State University with my Bachelors in Studio Art.  

My personal hope for the future is to show people that they are more connected to their pasts, each other, and art than they may realize.  I want to help to develop artistic prowess and interest in future generations while also helping those currently around me to find a home in the arts.
